Any Questions?

How much are the tours?
Please see Prices page for this year's tour costs.
Prices depend on the tour and the number of people in the group. The calendar page helps people join together. Tours can be priced as all-inclusive. It is also possible to arrange a 'tour only' price.

How do we travel?
We can carry a maximum of six passengers in a new 2015 Land Rover Defender. All the seats are forward facing. Customers are collected from their accommodation between 9 and 10 am (exact times to be confirmed on booking) and are returned at about 5 or 6 pm, depending on the tour and customer requirements.

What is included?
Tours last all day and include all transport, entrance fees (where applicable) and lunch with soft drinks, as well as morning coffee and afternoon tea. Some tours end with a beer or wine tasting (instead of afternoon tea), and this is also included in the price. However, it has proved most popular to arrange tours with entry fees and refreshments on a 'pay as you go' basis. Half-day tours are possible.

Where do I meet the tour?

We can collect you from your accommodation within a reasonable (20 mile) distance of the tour location. Or you can come and meet-up in Tintagel or Bodmin etc. We can get you from the railway station at Bodmin Parkway and also come to get you from Newquay Airport (additional cost).

Can children go on the tours?
We have found that children of about eight years and older really enjoy the safaris. If you wish to bring children on the tours, please contact us to discuss your requirements. Cornish Heritage Safaris are not really suitable for very young children.

Can I bring my dog?
Well-behaved canine companions are very welcome. By special request on some tours we may have the company of our own labradors, Magic and Mystery. If you don't like dogs, or have a dog allergy, please let us know and we’ll make sure there are no dogs on your safari.

How physically active do I need to be?
Cornish Heritage Safaris are suitable for adults of moderate or average fitness. The tours involve walking across rough ground and exploring historic sights where the ground may be uneven and steep. Tintagel Castle in particular has steep inclines and many steps to climb. If you have any concerns about your ability to take part in a trip, please discuss this with us before booking. We may be able to adapt the schedule to accommodate this. Our guests with restricted mobility have enjoyed tours based around their needs.

What do I need to bring?
Shoes. You should wear strong, comfortable footwear — waterproof walking boots are strongly recommended. With a few days notice, it may be possible for Cornish Heritage Safaris to purchase footwear on approval for customers. Please let us know if you require this service.
Wet-weather gear. Cornish Heritage Safaris can lend you water-resistant jackets and trousers at no additional charge.
Sun-cream and a hat. It is possible to get very sunburnt when you are out in the Cornish sun all day.
Your usual medication if required and any other you may need.
Camera. You’ll want some happy memories of the day’s adventures.
Money for entry fees etc. Almost everything can be included in the price of the trip. But you may wish to bring cash or credit cards to buy souvenirs, or to purchase additional drinks or snacks, etc.

Can I book a private group?
Cornish Heritage Safaris can provide bespoke arrangements and private bookings for corporate events and social groups, arranging a tour to suit your interests. For example, we can provide a tour with a literary theme, or include a mix of places from different themes. Please discuss your requirements with us.

What if there is a cancellation?
Cornish Heritage Safaris reserve the right to cancel bookings. This will be in the event of extreme weather conditions or illness, or due to unforeseen maintenance of the vehicle. If a tour cannot take place, a full refund will be given. Customers may request an alternative date. Customers are requested to give notice of cancellation at least 24 hours before the trip takes place, in which case a full refund will be made.

Is insurance included?
Cornish Heritage Safaris is fully insured and we have been trained in first aid.
