It will soon be a year since the UK’s first lockdown and some of us are looking forward to getting back to touring Cornwall and beyond. If you are planning to visit Cornwall and want a tour, or if you would like a transfer down into Cornwall, e.g. from Heathrow airport, please do contact me. You can make a provisional tour booking anytime.
This is my first blog for a while and so I’m having fun already. You may see a few extra images while I work things out!
My plan is to book people in for tours on a flexible basis. Deposits will not be requested. Visit Cornwall are holding an online briefing event tomorrow – it will be interesting to see how accommodation providers are going to structure their bookings. So I will post an update.
Excalibur the Land Rover
My Cornwall tours use my beautiful Land Rover Defender (hence all the images). It is licensed as a taxi for up to six passengers. To help us all avoid COVID19, I plan to get the Defender fitted with a partition screen and intercom. The front passenger seat will then be out of use and maximum tour capacity will be for five people in the same group. This should help to protect everyone from the COVID 19 virus. I will only accept bookings on the basis that all passengers wear a face covering. In addition, I’ll be using a medical grade sanitizer spray in the vehicle and on surfaces. How things have changed.
Restormel Castle
I’m also happy to do all or part day walking tours. Meeting at your vehicle. We can get take-away picnics too. There are plenty of outdoor walking options in Tintagel and all around Cornwall, using footpaths, coastal paths and rights of way. Some of my favourite places and the things I have missed visiting are the stone circles and ruined castles. If the weather holds out then staying outdoors will be no hardship.
It’s been a very difficult year for many of us. I’m really looking forward to meeting new people and getting back to work. I think we have all learned some valuable lessons in the last year about what really matters. Once things are clear and tours have started again, I will be offering one free tour every month to National Health Service staff, including Doctors, Nurses, porters and cleaners. More details and promotions to follow.
